Water
Magic
|
Many
fairies have their homes in lakes. In the case of
" The Lady of The Lake"
the surface of the water was an illusion created by magic to disguise her
palace.
|
|
Some of
the islands float and some are submerged, raising themselves
above the surface only at night.
|
|
Water
has always been important in folklore.
Its ambivalent nature
as provider of food, nurisher of crops, and taker of lives,
makes the divinities associated with it particularly potent
combining the qualities of beauty and treachery.
